Here’s to you, lady!

It’s Mother’s Day so it seems like the appropriate thing to do is honor all the moms out there. Happy day, moms out there! I am lucky to have a mom that loves and cherishes me, but I realize that not everyone does. I am also lucky to be a mom of three great kids, but that’s another gift I realize that not everyone has been blessed with.

Mother’s Day is a special day for those of us who get to enjoy the perks of having special relationships with our moms, or those of us who ARE moms, but there are lots of people who don’t have either of those things for one reason or another and for those people, today probably seems anything but special. I’d like to pay tribute to you all today no matter what this day means to you.

For you: moms, stepmoms, grandmas, amazing aunts, dog moms, cat moms, bonus moms, friend moms, sisters who are like moms ~ Women who are moms, were moms, wanted to be moms, never wanted to be moms, adoptive moms, foster moms, single moms, divorced moms, struggling to make it through a day moms, appear to have it all together moms, young moms, old moms, soon to be moms, unsure moms, happy moms, lonely and tired moms. ~ Maybe you’ve lost your mom, have a terrible mom, have the most amazing mom, a somewhere in-between mom, don’t know your mom or your mom is your best friend……

I don’t know what your situation is today. I don’t know whether or not you fall into the “this day is special” or “this day is brutal” category, but my hope is that someone notices you today because you matter too. Thank you for adding value to our lives in whatever ways you do. Here’s to you, lady!
